Welcome to, and thank you for visiting!

Life can be cruel and life can seem frightening, but it was you who gave us all, us confused young people, the idea that life is really wonderful.

During 5 years at DEL, you were an inspiration, a surrogate parent
and the person who personified most the shepherd in the Psalm
who gathers the lambs up, keeping them close to his heart with love...
I will forever remember you this way.

[10] Retirement Dinner - Photos and Speeches Sunday, March 5, 2006 11:46 PM

Photos and speeches have been posted! Also, there is now an upload page if you have your own photos which you would like to contribute.

In other news, last weekend, the computer was delivered to the Davies, who were still thrilled about the response from everyone who was able to attend the dinner or send their wishes via email or the guestbook. We are in the process of getting them online now!

Also, The guestbook is still open for any additional posts, which Mr. Davies will receive once he is online.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to the dinner or posted on the website!

[9] Thanks, everyone, for making the dinner a success! Sunday, February 19, 2006 2:50 AM

What a night! Thanks to everyone who came to the dinner - it was a huge success! Mr. Davies was definitely surprised, and not only did we all get a chance to say thanks in person, but we were even treated to a couple of his speeches!

We printed out all of the posts from the site as of Saturday afternoon for him to read temporarily, until we can get him online and set up with his computer. In addition, some of the posts were read at the dinner to give a small sampling of the flood of responses we received.

Most of the speeches given by Mr. Davies, as well as speeches given by others in attendance, were recorded and we hope to be able to upload them in the near future.

Also, if you have any pictures from the dinner, please send them in to and we'll include them in the photo gallery!

Thanks again to everyone who has contributed to the project!

[8] Post Deadline Extended Indefinitely Friday, February 17, 2006 12:01 AM

So, the deadline to post on the guestbook has passed, but we are still going to keep the guestbook running after the event. The deadline was for posts which will be included with the surprise. There is still a little bit of time, if you still wish for your post to be given to Mr. Davies at the dinner, as we won't be printing them out until Friday night or Saturday morning.

Any posts which don't make that deadline will still get to Mr. Davies, just not at the dinner.

Thanks to the 117 people who contributed to the guestbook so far!!

Tickety Boo
Meaning 'things are in good order' or 'good to go.' Perhaps a corruption of the Hindi 'thiik hai, babu' meaning 'it's all right sir' which may have been brought back from India via the UK by RCAF pilots in World War Two. (from

[1] Welcome to! Saturday, December 10, 2005 03:01 PM - updated February 6, 2006

Thanks for coming to! This site has been created by friends of Mr. Norm Davies to organize an effort to express thanks and appreciation to him for his years of service and dedication. We are not officially affiliated with De La Salle College.

Mr. Davies recently retired and we are gathering comments and donations (for a computer) which will be presented to him as a surprise on Saturday, February 18, 2006!

  1. To find out more about the project click here.

  2. Please visit the event page for details on the Retirement Dinner we are hosting on Saturday, February 18 for Mr. Davies! Everyone is invited, but RSVP required. The website will be presented to him at this time.

  3. Add your comments to the guestbook! If you'd rather send a private message, you can do that through the guestbook or you can mail a card or gift to us (see contact information). The deadline for adding comments before the surprise presentation is February 16.

  4. A photo album is being compiled. If you have any photos of Mr. Davies please send them to us!

Last, but definitely not least, please spread the word about this project to everyone you know who might be interested. Every post counts! We want Mr. Davies to hear from everyone, and the event is a chance for people to thank Mr. Davies in person!

Thanks again for visiting! Please check back to see how the project is progressing, and even to sign the guestbook again if you feel so inspired.

This is our chance to make Mr. Davies' day tickety-boo!
